Darren Kikuchi (on left) during his youth trained extensively in the martial arts.  He  began with Judo became fascinated with Tae Kwon Do and started to cross train with many different martial arts.  Darren dedicated many years to the martial arts and had the honor to learn from many martial art champions and legends.  He founded USA Freestyle Martial Arts in 1986 and had the priviledge to empower the following to Black Belt:  Jerry Gerongco, Will Jackson, Mary Davis, Debbie Clauson, Tad Anderson, Joey Watson, and others.  Sensei Kikuchi encourages you to be part of the USA Freestyle Martial Arts family and make a difference in the world!

 

Influential Martial Arts Masters of Sensei Kikuchi  Judo - Masato Tamura a pioneer of Judo in the USA and helped establish Judo in law enforcement and the military in the USA.  Mr. Tamura received his Sandan from the founder Jigaro Kano.  Tae Kwon Do - Ernie Reyes Sr. a master choreographer of martial arts demonstrations and world champion Tae Kwon Do fighter.  Mr. Reyes received his Black Belt from Dan Choi of Korea.  American Karate - Victor Hughes a master sergeant marine who trained with the "Cat" Yamaguchi is known as the father of Karate to San Diego.  Mr. Hughes created his own system of defense, offense and common sense.  Kajukenpo - Lucky Luciano one of the original students of Kajukenpo and is the Senior Grandmaster to the system.  Mr. Luciano has remained loyal to the traditional ways of martial arts.  Muay Thai - Makthepharaks Bounapoungh the son of the Commander and Chief of the Lao military who founded Deth Ko Sin Muay Thai.  An undefeated world champion kickboxer.  Ryuei Ryu Karate - Alfonso Gomez Sr. is the head director of University California San Diego's martial arts programs.  Mr. Gomez was a Kobudo champion and has trained many traditional Karate champions.
